I didn’t turn on my lights
today
just to feel what they might have felt.
I refused breathing for some
seconds
just to feel what they might have felt.
I thought of my family and
what they might do when I go
just to feel what they might have felt.
Today, the only color my
homeland can see is black – black as coal; black as a mineworker’s eye; black
as their destiny. Over 250 lives have disappeared hundreds of meters below.
Thousands of people have lost either their dad or their brother!
Can you think
of your dad being trapped down below and dying while he worked to pay the bills?
Soma is the only word on our mouth,
and tears are the only answers to all the questions!
Please, pray for those families left behind!
Please, pray for those still trapped down inside the mine!
